Image Resizing FAQ
Keep the aspect ratio lock enabled (the lock icon next to the dimension inputs). When locked, changing one dimension automatically adjusts the other to maintain proportions. This prevents stretching or distortion.
Instagram: 1080x1080 (square), 1080x1350 (portrait). Facebook: 1200x630 (shared image). Twitter: 1200x675. Website hero: 1920x1080. Thumbnails: 300x300. Use the Quick Scale buttons for fast proportional resizing.
You can upscale (use the 200% button), but some quality loss is unavoidable because the tool must interpolate new pixels. For best results when upscaling, start with the highest-quality original you have. For downscaling, quality loss is minimal to none.
By default, the output format matches your input (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG). You can change this using the Output Format selector — convert to JPEG for smaller files, WebP for best compression, or keep the original format.
