This tool uses a color-based "magic wand" approach. You click on the background area to select its color, and the tool makes all similar colors transparent. It works best for images with solid, uniform backgrounds. It does not use AI — for complex backgrounds with hair or fuzzy edges, dedicated AI tools may give better results.
Tolerance controls how similar colors must be to the selected background color to become transparent. A low tolerance (10-30) only removes very similar colors. A high tolerance (60-120) removes a broader range of similar colors. Start low and increase if parts of the background remain.
Images with solid, single-color backgrounds work best — product photos on white backgrounds, logos, icons, and simple illustrations. Photos with complex, multi-colored, or gradient backgrounds are more challenging. The output is always a transparent PNG file.
